Imagine our neighborhood streets lined with creative, artistic and whimsical scarecrows, each one a testament to our community’s spirit.

Let’s make this year’s Scarecrow Contest the best one yet!

Festival Highlights

Let’s grow our little scarecrow contest into into a full-blown Collister Neighborhood Scarecrow Festival that brings us all together and celebrates our creativity and community spirit.

  • Become Part of the Tradition:

This isn’t just a contest; it’s a chance to build a beloved neighborhood tradition. From families to classrooms to coffee shops and our senior citizens, we envision the Collister neighborhood decorated up with scarecrows on every street.

  • Prizes and Bragging Rights:

There will be prizes for the neighborhood’s favorite scarecrows. As the Scarecrow Festival grows, so will the prizes!

  • The Collister Community Showcase:

Local businesses, churches and community groups are encouraged to get in on the decorating action helping us turn our neighborhood into a festive fall wonderland.

PARTICIPATION

  • Who is eligible to participate?
    • Entrants must reside in or operate a business or community group within the Collister Neighborhood Boundaries
    • Families, individuals, businesses, schools (classrooms/clubs), and community groups (churches/youth groups) are encouraged to participate

PRIZES! PRIZES! PRIZES!

  • Prizes for the 2024 Scarecrow Contest were $100, $75, and $50 gift cards. Prizes for the 2025 contest will be of similar value.
  • List of prizes will be published on the CNA website and social media pages.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Display Dates: Scarecrows must be on display through Saturday, October 25, 2025. Let’s keep the fall fun going strong!
  • Show Off Your Skills: We want the whole community to share in the joy! Make sure your scarecrow is easily visible from the street or a public walkway.
  • Weatherproof Your Creation: Our neighborhood can have some wild weather, so build your scarecrow to last. Think sturdy materials that can handle wind, rain, and anything else Mother Nature throws its way.
  • Keep it Looking Good: Please make sure your scarecrow stays in great shape throughout the contest.
  • Give it a Name! Every great creation deserves a title. Be sure to name your scarecrow or give your scarecrow a title!
  • Get Creative: This is your chance to let your imagination run wild! Think outside the box and have fun! Just remember to keep your design family-friendly and avoid any political or excessively violent themes.
  • The Collister Neighborhood Association reserves the right to reject entries for any scarecrow that is not in the spirit of the contest.
